The aims of the centre are noble. To bring experiences of the past times which saw much sombre and sad times, in an effort to bring understanding to the heritage the people of Northern Ireland and Ireland have. As well as bringing together cross-border communities, the centre wishes to help the youth of today see what they have available in terms of resources, artefacts and awareness of what went on all those years ago.

There are guided tours available to further your knowledge of past times. Usually these are set up for schools, but the Centre insists on having something of equal use for others.

For anyone firmly interested in warfare of the past, or even researching their family tree, the Somme Heritage Centre is a valuable resource to insight, inspiration and humility to think of what it represents.

The centre also has a cafe and souvenir shop to add to your experience.
