Mount Stewart Newtownards

Gardens of beautiful flowers in the Italian Garden.  Architecture that you can’t shut your eyes at.  And Red Squirrels bouncing around.  Nature is drawn here.  And so will you be.

A lavish paradise maybe?

That’s open to the general public.

Gardens skip along, breath in the inspiration and immerse yourself in the unusual but all too endearing designs.

Being close to the Strangford Lough has its advantages.  Where mild weather allows experimentation to occur, the gardens of Mount Stewart House only encourage what Lady Londonderry Edith set out to do.  One might even think they were closer to the Mediterrian with the goings on of colours and warm vibes.

It’s not all about gardens and flower arranging.  There’s the House itself you can explore.  While you do so, you’ll find that its history become unravelled to you all to easily.  With recreation based on Edith’s diaries, already you’ll start to believe that time travel is no longer needed to feel what she did.

Like Scrabo Tower you’ll find perfect views of the nearby Lough and the Temple of the Winds.  When the sun comes up, you could be forgiven for wanting to have a picnic on the grassy area outside Mount Stewart house.  After that you can grab a beautiful walk to shed those calories.  Only with such a perfect setting, it’ll not feel strenuous in any way.
